Objective

By the end of this lesson, the 1 year old student will have fun while engaging in physical activities related to Valentine's Day.

Materials and Prep

  • Ensure a safe and open space for the activities.

Activities

  • Valentine's Dance: Play some upbeat Valentine's Day-themed music and encourage the student to move and dance freely.

  • Heart Balloon Toss: Blow up a heart-shaped balloon and gently toss it back and forth with the student, encouraging them to catch and throw it.

  • Love Bug Crawl: Place heart-shaped stickers on the floor in a path and encourage the student to crawl along the path, collecting the stickers as they go.

  • Heart Hop: Draw or place heart-shaped cutouts on the floor and guide the student to hop from one heart to another, practicing balance and coordination.

  • Valentine's Obstacle Course: Set up a simple obstacle course using pillows, cushions, and other soft objects. Guide the student through the course, encouraging them to crawl or walk around the obstacles.

  • "Look, we are going to have so much fun moving and dancing like little Valentine's dancers!"

  • "Let's gently toss this heart balloon back and forth. Can you catch it? Great job!"

  • "Oh, look at these heart stickers on the floor! Let's crawl and collect them like little love bugs!"
