Materials and Prep
- Construction paper

- Markers or crayons
- Valentine's Day stickers (optional)
No prior knowledge or preparation required.
Activities
- Create a Valentine's Day card: Assist the student in cutting out a heart shape from construction paper. Encourage them to decorate the heart using markers, crayons, and stickers. Help them write a simple message inside the card, such as "Happy Valentine's Day!"
- Counting hearts: Cut out multiple hearts from construction paper. Ask the student to count the hearts and place them in a line. Practice counting from 1 to the total number of hearts.
- Letter recognition: Write the letters of the alphabet on separate heart-shaped pieces of construction paper. Ask the student to identify and name each letter as they point to it.
- Matching game: Cut out pairs of heart-shaped pieces from construction paper. Draw different shapes, numbers, or letters on each pair. Mix up the pieces and ask the student to match the pairs based on the shapes, numbers, or letters.
