Materials and Prep
- Construction paper (red, pink, and white)
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Markers or crayons
- Optional: Heart-shaped cookie cutter or stencil
No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Create Heart Collage: Cut out heart shapes from the construction paper and let the student glue them onto a larger piece of paper to create a heart collage.
- Decorate Heart: Provide the student with a blank heart shape and encourage them to decorate it using markers or crayons.
- Heart Stamping: Dip the heart-shaped cookie cutter or stencil into paint and let the student stamp it onto paper to create heart prints.
- Sensory Heart Play: Fill a container with rice or sand and hide heart-shaped objects within it. Let the student dig and discover the hidden hearts.
- Heart Matching Game: Cut out pairs of heart shapes from the construction paper and play a simple matching game with the student.
