Activities

  1. Activity 1: Blind Contour Drawing

Choose an object in your surroundings and try drawing it without looking at your paper. Focus on the outline and contours of the object. This exercise will help you improve your observation skills and hand-eye coordination.

  2. Activity 2: Colorful Doodle Art

Start with a blank piece of paper and let your imagination run wild! Use colored pencils or markers to create a doodle artwork. Experiment with different shapes, patterns, and colors. There are no right or wrong answers in doodling!

  3. Activity 3: Watercolor Resist Painting

Take a sheet of plain white paper and draw a simple design or picture using a pencil. Once you are done, use watercolor paints to cover the entire paper. The pencil lines will resist the watercolor, creating a beautiful effect. Let your creativity flow!

Talking Points

  • Art is a way to express your thoughts, feelings, and imagination. It allows you to communicate without words.

  • Blind contour drawing helps us focus on the shapes and lines of an object. It's okay if the drawing doesn't look perfect - the goal is to practice observation skills.

  • Doodling is a form of art that allows you to relax and let your creativity flow. There are no rules or expectations, so have fun and see where your imagination takes you!

  • Watercolor resist painting is a technique where the paint resists the areas where you've drawn with a pencil. This creates interesting contrast and texture in your artwork.

  • Remember, there are no mistakes in art. Embrace imperfections and use them to your advantage. Art is about exploring and enjoying the process, not just the end result.
