Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to learn basic swimming skills and have fun in the water!

Materials and Prep

  • Swimming pool or any safe body of water
  • Swimwear
  • Towel
  • Waterproof sunscreen
  • Goggles (optional)

Before starting the lesson, make sure you have permission and adult supervision to swim.

Activities

  1. Warm-up: Start by splashing and kicking your legs in the water to get comfortable.
  2. Blowing Bubbles: Practice putting your face in the water and blowing bubbles through your nose and mouth.
  3. Float on Your Back: Lie on your back and try to float on the water's surface. Keep your arms and legs relaxed.
  4. Kickboard Fun: Hold onto a kickboard and kick your legs behind you to move through the water.
  5. Underwater Treasure Hunt: Place some small objects at the bottom of the pool and dive down to retrieve them.
  6. Jump and Dive: If you feel confident, practice jumping into the water and diving down.
