Objective
By the end of this lesson, the 2 year old student will be able to recognize and identify number blocks, and understand basic counting concepts.
Materials and Prep
- Number block toys or cards
- Blank paper and crayons
- Clear space for movement and play
Activities
- Counting Number Blocks: Show the student different number blocks and ask them to count the number of blocks on each one.
- Matching Number Blocks: Lay out several number blocks and ask the student to match them with the corresponding numeral cards.
- Number Block Art: Provide the student with blank paper and crayons. Encourage them to draw their favorite number block and decorate it.
- Number Block Dance: Play some lively music and have the student dance around, counting aloud as they move. Encourage them to shout out the numbers they see on their number block toys.
