Objective
By the end of this lesson, the 2-year-old student will have an introduction to Women's History Month and be able to recognize and appreciate the contributions of women in history.
Materials and Prep
- Picture books about inspiring women
- Colorful markers or crayons
- Blank paper
- Printouts of pictures of influential women
Activities
- Reading: Read age-appropriate picture books about inspiring women, such as "She Persisted" by Chelsea Clinton or "Little Leaders: Bold Women in Black History" by Vashti Harrison. Encourage the student to ask questions and engage in discussions about the stories.
- Drawing: Provide the student with blank paper and colorful markers or crayons. Ask them to draw their favorite woman from the stories they read or create their own picture of a strong and brave woman.
- Puzzle Time: Print out pictures of influential women and cut them into puzzle pieces. Help the student assemble the puzzles and talk about each woman's contribution as they complete each puzzle.
- Role Play: Encourage the student to dress up as their favorite inspiring woman and pretend to be her. Help them act out a short scene or tell a story about the woman's achievements.

- Women's History Month is a special time when we celebrate the amazing things women have done in the past.
- Some women were brave and fought for what they believed in, just like superheroes!
- Women can be doctors, astronauts, scientists, artists, and many other things.
- One famous woman is Rosa Parks. She stood up for what was right and helped make a big change.
- Another inspiring woman is Amelia Earhart. She was a pilot and flew across the ocean all by herself!
- There are so many incredible women in history, and we can learn from their stories.
