Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will have a basic understanding of Women's history month and the contributions of notable women throughout history.

Materials and Prep

Activities

  • Create a collage: Provide the student with magazines or printed images of women from different time periods. Let them cut out the images and glue them onto a piece of paper to create a collage representing women's history.
  • Dress-up game: Collect various costumes or clothing items that represent different professions or historical periods. Allow the student to dress up and pretend to be different women from history while discussing their contributions.
  • Storytime: Read age-appropriate books about notable women in history. Encourage the student to ask questions and engage in discussions about the stories.
  • Draw and talk: Ask the student to draw their favorite woman from history and explain why they admire her. Have a conversation about the qualities and achievements of the chosen woman.
