  • Glue stick
  • Markers or crayons
  • Stickers (optional)

No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.

Activities

  • Create a Valentine's Day card: Help the student cut out a heart shape from the construction paper. Let them decorate it with markers, crayons, and stickers. Assist them in gluing the heart onto another piece of paper to make a card.
  • Sensory exploration: Fill a container with heart-shaped objects or small items in various shades of red and pink. Let the student explore the objects using their senses, such as touching, smelling, and looking at them.
  • Valentine's Day dance party: Play some cheerful Valentine's Day-themed music and encourage the student to dance along. Show them simple dance moves like clapping hands, jumping, and spinning.
  • Matching game: Cut out several heart shapes from the construction paper and draw or place stickers on them in pairs. Mix them up and help the student find the matching pairs.
