  • Cooking utensils (pots, pans, spatula, measuring cups, etc.)
  • Ingredients for a simple recipe (e.g., flour, eggs, milk, sugar)
  • Access to a kitchen or cooking area
  • Basic knowledge of reading, writing, arithmetic, and geography

Activities

  • Activity 1: Recipe Reading and Comprehension

Choose a simple recipe and read it carefully. Identify the ingredients, measurements, and cooking instructions. Write down any questions or clarifications you may have.

  • Activity 2: Measurement Conversion Challenge

Select a few ingredients from the recipe and practice converting their measurements. For example, if the recipe calls for 1 cup of flour, how many tablespoons is that? Use your math skills to solve the conversions.

  • Activity 3: Science of Cooking

Research and learn about the science behind cooking. Explore topics such as how heat affects food, chemical reactions during baking, or the role of different ingredients. Create a short presentation or poster to share your findings.

  • Activity 4: Cultural Cuisine Exploration
