- Various craft supplies (glue, scissors, construction paper)
- Props or costumes related to Super Mario Bros (optional)
- Space for physical activities
- Bluetooth speaker or music player
No prior knowledge or experience is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Create Super Mario Bros Art: Encourage the student to draw their favorite characters or scenes from the game using the coloring materials. They can also cut out shapes from construction paper and glue them together to create their own Mario-themed crafts.
- Dance Party: Play Super Mario Bros theme music and have a dance party with the student. Encourage them to move and groove to the beat, imitating Mario's movements or creating their own dance moves.
- Obstacle Course: Set up a simple obstacle course using household items such as pillows, cushions, and hula hoops. The student can navigate through the course, pretending to be Mario or one of the characters from the game. Time them and challenge them to complete the course faster each time.
- Musical Instruments: Introduce the student to different musical instruments by playing Super Mario Bros theme music on the speaker. Encourage them to identify the sounds and try to mimic them using their voice or simple instruments like a tambourine or maracas.
- Storytelling: Ask the student to create their own Super Mario Bros story. They can use their drawings or crafts as visual aids while narrating their adventure. Encourage them to be creative and include their favorite characters and elements from the game.
