Materials and Prep

- Pen or pencil
Activities
- Choose a book that you would like to analyze. It can be a book you have recently read or one you are currently reading.
- Read a few chapters or a significant portion of the book.
- Take notes while reading, focusing on the plot, characters, and any themes that you notice.
- After reading, write a short summary of the plot. Include the main events and how they connect to each other.
- Create a character chart where you list the main characters and describe their traits, actions, and motivations.
- Identify any themes that you believe the book explores. Write a paragraph explaining these themes and provide evidence from the text to support your ideas.
- Reflect on your reading experience and answer the following questions in a journal entry:
- What did you enjoy most about the book?
- Did you relate to any of the characters or situations?
- What lessons or messages do you think the author is trying to convey?
