Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will have a basic understanding of gravity and its effects.
Materials and Prep
- Various objects of different weights (e.g., toys, books, balls)
- A large empty box or container
- Paper and crayons
Prior knowledge: The student should be familiar with the concept of objects falling down.
Activities
- Activity 1: Drop and Observe - Have the student drop different objects and observe how they fall to the ground. Encourage them to describe what they see.
- Activity 2: Feather or Ball? - Show the student a feather and a ball. Ask them to predict which one will fall faster. Drop them simultaneously and discuss the results.
- Activity 3: Gravity Art - Provide the student with paper and crayons. Ask them to draw objects falling down due to gravity. Discuss their artwork and encourage creativity.
- Activity 4: Gravity Box - Place various objects of different weights inside the large empty box. Have the student try to lift the box and observe the effect of gravity on the objects.
