Objective

By the end of this lesson, the 1 year old student will have fun exploring the theme of Valentine's Day and develop their English language skills through engaging activities.

Materials and Prep

  • Construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Markers or crayons
  • Valentine-themed stickers (optional)

No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.

Activities

  • Create Valentine's Day Cards: Help the student cut out heart shapes from construction paper and decorate them with markers or crayons. Encourage them to use their imagination and creativity. They can also use the glue stick to attach Valentine-themed stickers if available.
  • Sing Valentine's Songs: Teach the student simple Valentine's Day songs like "I Love You, You Love Me" or "Skidamarink". Sing along with them and encourage them to clap or dance to the rhythm.
  • Valentine's Day Story Time: Read a short Valentine's Day-themed storybook to the student. Use expressive voices and gestures to make the story engaging. Pause occasionally to ask simple questions like "What color is the heart?" or "What do you think will happen next?"
