Objective

By the end of this lesson, the 3-year-old student will have a basic understanding of Passover and its significance.

Materials and Prep

  • Picture book about Passover
  • Coloring materials (crayons, markers, etc.)
  • Printed coloring pages related to Passover
  • Optional: Matzah crackers

Prior knowledge: The student should have some basic vocabulary and understanding of holidays and traditions.

Activities

  1. Read a Picture Book: Start the lesson by reading a picture book about Passover. Show the illustrations and discuss the story with the student.
  2. Coloring Pages: Provide the student with printed coloring pages related to Passover. Encourage them to color and talk about the different elements they see in the pictures.
  3. Matzah Tasting: If available, offer the student a piece of Matzah cracker to taste. Explain that Matzah is a special food eaten during Passover.
