Activities
Plant Exploration: Take a walk in the garden or outdoor space (if available) and observe different types of plants. Encourage the student to touch the plants gently and describe their features.
Plant Drawing: Ask the student to choose their favorite plant from the observation and draw it on paper. Help them identify the different parts of the plant, such as leaves, stem, and flowers.
Coloring Fun: Provide coloring sheets with various plants for the student to color. Discuss the different colors they choose and how plants can come in different shades.
Planting Seeds: If possible, engage the student in planting seeds in a small pot or container. Explain how plants grow from seeds and the importance of water, sunlight, and soil for their growth.
Talking Points
"Plants are living things that grow and need certain things to survive, just like we do."
"Plants have different parts, like leaves, stems, and flowers. These parts help them do different jobs."
"Plants come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors. Some have big leaves, while others have small leaves."
"When we plant seeds, they need water, sunlight, and soil to grow into new plants. We need to take care of them and give them what they need."
