- Construction paper
- Markers or crayons
- Scissors
- Glue
- Animal-themed storybooks
- Animal sounds recordings or videos
No additional preparation required.
Activities
- Create an Animal Hospital: Set up a pretend play area where the student can take care of their stuffed animals. Provide basic medical supplies like bandages, toy stethoscope, and pretend medicine bottles.
- Animal Collage: Help the student cut out pictures of different animals from magazines or printouts. Then, assist them in gluing the animal pictures onto a piece of construction paper to create a collage.
- Animal Sounds Game: Play animal sounds recordings or videos and encourage the student to imitate the sounds. Have fun guessing which animal makes each sound.
- Read Animal Storybooks: Choose animal-themed storybooks and read them aloud to the student. Ask questions about the animals in the stories to engage their comprehension.

- Music: "Let's sing a song about animals! Can you move like a monkey while we sing?"
- Physical Education: "Animals like to move and exercise too! Let's pretend to be different animals and move around the room."
- Science: "Animals come in different shapes and sizes. Can you point to a big animal? How about a small animal?"
- Social Studies: "Vets help animals from all around the world. What animals do you think live in the jungle? Can you name any animals from the ocean?"
