Activities

Create a Lunar New Year drawing:
Ask the student to draw a picture of their favorite Lunar New Year symbol, such as a dragon, lion dance, or lantern. Encourage them to use bright colors and be creative!

Watch a video about Lunar New Year:
Show the student a short video explaining the traditions and celebrations of Lunar New Year. Discuss the different customs and symbols shown in the video.

Make a red envelope:
Show the student how to fold a piece of paper into a red envelope. Explain that red envelopes are often given during Lunar New Year to bring good luck and blessings. Encourage the student to decorate the envelope with their own designs.

Learn a Lunar New Year song:
Teach the student a simple Lunar New Year song, such as "Gong Xi Gong Xi" or "Xin Nian Kuai Le." Sing the song together and practice the hand gestures or dance moves that go along with it.
