Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand basic concepts of astronomy and have fun exploring the wonders of the universe!

Materials and Prep

  • A computer or tablet with internet access
  • Pen and paper
  • Printed star charts (optional)

Activities

  • Create your own constellation: Using the pen and paper, draw your own constellation. Give it a name and write a short story about it. Be creative!

  • Virtual planet exploration: Use the computer or tablet to explore different planets in our solar system. Take notes on interesting facts about each planet.

  • Stargazing adventure: On a clear night, go outside and observe the stars. Use the printed star charts (if available) to identify constellations. Write down the names of the constellations you find.
