Materials and Prep

  • Construction paper (various colors)
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Markers or crayons
  • Printed Easter coloring pages (optional)

No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.

Activities

  • Create an Easter Bunny
  • Guide the student to cut out an Easter Bunny shape from the construction paper and decorate it with markers or crayons. They can add googly eyes, a cotton ball tail, and any other creative details.

  • Make an Easter Egg Collage
  • Help the student cut out egg shapes from different colored construction paper. Then, assist them in gluing the eggs onto a larger piece of paper to create a colorful Easter egg collage.

  • Color Easter Coloring Pages
  • If available, provide the student with printed Easter coloring pages. Encourage them to use their favorite colors and take their time to complete the pages.

  • What is Easter?
  • "Easter is a special holiday that we celebrate in the springtime. It's a time to remember and celebrate Jesus' resurrection from the dead."

  • Why do we have Easter eggs?
  • "Eggs are a symbol of new life, just like how Jesus came back to life. We decorate eggs to make them colorful and beautiful."

  • Who is the Easter Bunny?
  • "The Easter Bunny is a friendly rabbit who brings treats and eggs for children to find on Easter morning. It's a fun tradition!"

  • What do we do on Easter?
  • "On Easter, we can spend time with our family, go to church, and have special meals together. We also give and receive Easter eggs and gifts."

  • Why is Easter important?
  • "Easter is important because it reminds us of God's love for us and the hope we have because Jesus is alive. It's a time to be joyful and grateful."
