- Activity 2: Picture Drawing - Give the student a blank piece of paper and ask them to draw a picture of an object you name. Encourage them to label their drawing with the correct word.
- Activity 3: Word Hunt - Hide flashcards around the room or house and ask the student to find them. Once they find a flashcard, they should say the word out loud and write it down on their paper.
Talking Points
- Objects: "Today, we are going to learn about different objects. Objects are things that we can see and touch. Can you name some objects you know?"
- Flashcards: "To help us learn about objects, we have these special cards called flashcards. They have pictures of objects on them. We will use them to play fun games and learn new words."
- Matching Game: "In this game, I will show you a flashcard with a picture of an object. Your job is to tell me what the object is called. Then, you need to find the word that matches the picture on another flashcard. Let's see how many matches you can make!"
- Drawing Activity: "Now, let's get creative! I will tell you the name of an object, and you will draw a picture of it on your paper. Don't forget to write the word next to your drawing. Drawing and writing will help us remember the words better."
- Word Hunt: "Are you ready for a treasure hunt? I've hidden some flashcards around the room or house. Your mission is to find them and say the word out loud. When you find a flashcard, write the word down on your paper. Let's see how many words you can find!"
- Review: "Great job today! Now, let's go through all the words we learned. Can you show me the flashcards and say the words? Remember, practice makes perfect!"
