Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify digital systems and understand how instructions are used to control digital devices.
Materials and Prep
- A computer or tablet
- Internet access
- Pen and paper for taking notes
No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Activity 1: Digital Device Hunt
- Activity 2: Follow the Instructions
- Activity 3: Create Your Own Digital Device
Look around your house and find different digital devices. Write down their names and what they are used for.
Choose a digital device and pretend to be the device. Have someone else give you instructions on what to do, like "open a website" or "play a game". Follow the instructions and see if you can do what they asked.
Using your imagination, draw a picture of a digital device that you would like to invent. Think about what it would do and how it would work.
