Activities

  • Activity 1: Design and Build
Using the materials provided, design and build a solution for the given problem or challenge. Encourage creativity and experimentation.
  • Activity 2: Test and Improve
Test your solution and identify any areas for improvement. Make modifications to your design to enhance its functionality.
  • Activity 3: Present and Reflect
Present your solution to someone else, explaining how it addresses the need or opportunity. Reflect on the process and discuss what you learned.

Talking Points

  • Materials and Tools
"Today, we are going to use different materials and tools to create something new. We will need things like paper, cardboard, tape, scissors, and markers. These materials will help us build our solutions."
  • Identifying a Need or Opportunity
"Before we start building, let's think about a problem or challenge we want to solve. It could be something like building a bridge for our toy cars or creating a new toy. What do you want to make?"
  • Design and Build
"Now it's time to design and build our solution. Think about how the materials can be used to create something that solves the problem or takes advantage of the opportunity. Be creative and try different ideas!"
  • Testing and Improving
"Once you have built your solution, it's important to test it. Does it work the way you intended? Are there any areas that can be improved? Make changes and modifications to make it even better!"
  • Presenting and Reflecting
"Now, let's present our solutions to someone else. Explain how your creation addresses the need or opportunity. What did you learn from this process? How can you use your new skills in the future?"
