Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to effectively communicate by using interpersonal conventions and language to extend and elaborate ideas for social and learning interactions.

Activities

  • Activity 1: Role Play

    Have the student engage in a role play scenario where they need to communicate effectively with another person. This could be a conversation between friends, a customer service interaction, or any other relevant scenario. Encourage the student to use appropriate interpersonal conventions and language to extend and elaborate their ideas during the role play.

  • Activity 2: Debate

    Choose a topic of interest to the student and have them engage in a debate. Encourage the student to use persuasive language and interpersonal conventions to extend and elaborate their ideas during the debate. Provide feedback and guidance as needed.

  • Activity 3: Storytelling

    Ask the student to create a story using their imagination. They should focus on using interpersonal conventions and language to extend and elaborate their ideas while telling the story. The student can write the story on paper or orally share it with you.
