Objective

By the end of this lesson, the 1 year old student will have fun exploring art and physical activities inspired by their interests in Disney movies, little people toys, blues clues, Ms Rachel, hey bear sensory, playing outside, and rocks.

Materials and Prep

  • Disney movie posters or images
  • Little people toys
  • Blues Clues coloring sheets or images
  • Ms Rachel's videos or songs
  • Hey Bear Sensory videos
  • Outdoor play area
  • Assorted rocks

Before starting the lesson, make sure the materials are readily available and the outdoor play area is safe for the student.

Activities

  • Create a Disney movie collage using the posters or images. Let the student help arrange and stick the pictures on a large piece of paper.
  • Set up a little people toy village and encourage the student to explore and interact with the toys. Talk about the different characters and their roles.
  • Print out Blues Clues coloring sheets or find images online. Provide crayons or markers for the student to color the pictures.
  • Play Ms Rachel's videos or songs and encourage the student to dance or move along with the music. Use simple movements and gestures to engage the student.
  • Show Hey Bear Sensory videos that involve visual stimulation and encourage the student to imitate the movements or sounds they see and hear.
  • Take the student outdoors to play. Let them explore nature, including rocks. Talk about the different sizes, shapes, and colors of the rocks they find.

  • "Let's color Blues Clues together! Which color would you like to use?"
