Objective
By the end of this lesson, the 3-year-old student will have fun exploring the world of dress-up and develop creativity and imagination skills.
Materials and Prep
- A variety of dress-up clothes and accessories (e.g., hats, scarves, dresses, shirts, skirts, shoes, etc.)
- A mirror
- A designated dress-up area or space
Before the lesson, make sure the dress-up area is set up with the clothes and accessories neatly organized and easily accessible for the student.
Activities
- Activity 1: Dress-Up Relay - Set up a small obstacle course in the room using cushions or toys. Encourage the student to dress up in a costume, then race through the course. Repeat with different costumes.
- Activity 2: Fashion Show - Have the student pick out their favorite dress-up outfit and accessories. Encourage them to strike poses and walk down a pretend runway while describing their outfit.
- Activity 3: Dress-Up Story Time - Choose a favorite storybook and have the student dress up as the characters in the story. Act out the scenes together and encourage the student to use their imagination.

- "Dressing up is like pretending to be someone or something else. It's fun to use our imagination and become different characters!"
- "When we dress up, we can choose different clothes and accessories to create a unique look. What do you want to wear today?"
- "Look in the mirror! How do you feel when you see yourself in a different outfit? Do you feel silly, happy, or something else?"
- "Let's have a dress-up relay race! Can you put on a superhero cape and run as fast as you can? Ready, set, go!"
- "Wow, you look like a fashion model! Can you show me your favorite pose and describe your outfit?"
- "In our story today, the main character is a princess. Can you find a princess dress and crown to wear? Let's act out the story together!"
