Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to use building blocks to create different structures and describe them using English words.
Materials and Prep
- Building blocks of various shapes and sizes
- A clean and safe play area
- Enthusiasm and creativity!
Activities
- Free Play: Allow the student to explore and build with the building blocks freely. Encourage them to use their imagination and create different structures.
- Shape Sorting: Ask the student to sort the building blocks by shape. Help them identify and name the different shapes they encounter. For example, "Look, this block is a square! Can you find another square block?"
- Building Challenge: Give the student a specific challenge, such as building a tall tower or a bridge. Encourage them to describe their creation using English words. For example, "Wow, your tower is so tall! How many blocks did you use?"
- Storytelling: Ask the student to create a story using the building blocks. They can build different scenes and describe what is happening using English words. For example, "Once upon a time, there was a princess who lived in a castle made of blocks."
Talking Points
