Materials and Prep

  • World map or globe
  • Pen and paper
  • Access to the internet (optional)

Activities

  1. Create a Travel Brochure

Imagine you are a travel agent promoting a specific country. Use the map or globe to choose a country you find interesting. Research and gather information about its geography, landmarks, culture, and attractions. Then, create a colorful and informative travel brochure to entice people to visit that country.

  2. Geography Quiz Game

Prepare a list of questions about different countries, their capitals, famous landmarks, and geographical features. Take turns with a family member or friend asking and answering the questions. Keep score and see who can answer the most correctly. You can also use online resources to find interesting quiz questions.

  3. Design a Fantasy Island

Let your imagination run wild and create your own fantasy island. Draw a map of the island, including various geographical features like mountains, rivers, forests, and beaches. Label different areas with names and come up with unique characteristics for each location. Write a short description of your fantasy island, explaining its climate, wildlife, and any other interesting details.
