Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify and understand the days of the week and months of the year.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper or notebook

No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.

Activities

  • Create a Days of the Week Chart: Have the student draw a table with seven columns, one for each day of the week. Then, ask them to write the names of the days in the correct order.
  • Months of the Year Puzzle: Cut out twelve squares or rectangles from a piece of paper. On each piece, write the name of a month. Mix up the pieces and challenge the student to arrange them in the correct order.
  • Song or Rhyme: Teach the student a catchy song or rhyme that includes the days of the week and months of the year. Encourage them to sing or recite it throughout the day to reinforce their learning.
  • Calendar Activity: Using a blank calendar template or drawing one, ask the student to fill in the days of the week and months of the year in the appropriate spaces. They can also mark special events or birthdays for each month.
