Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to recognize observable changes occurring in the sky and on the land, and identify Earth’s resources.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: Pen, paper, access to a window, internet for research. Prep: None.

Activities

  • Cloud Observation:

    Find a comfortable spot near a window. Observe the clouds for 15 minutes. Note their shapes, colors, and movements. Write down your observations.

  • Tree Study:

    Go outside and choose a tree to observe. Look closely at its leaves, branches, and any changes you notice. Draw a sketch of the tree and write a short description.

  • Resource Hunt:

    Research online about Earth’s resources. Make a list of at least 5 resources and write a sentence about how each is used.
