Prior to the lesson, familiarize yourself with the historical timeline of our local community and gather any relevant materials for reference.

Activities

  • Community Scavenger Hunt: Create a list of historical landmarks or sites in our community. Go on a scavenger hunt to locate and learn about each one.
  • Interview a Local Historian: Reach out to a local historian or visit a historical society to interview someone knowledgeable about the history of our community.
  • Timeline Creation: Use the information gathered to create a timeline of significant people, events, and places in our local community.
