Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to build a brickyard using STEM concepts and have fun while learning about various subjects.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: building blocks or LEGO bricks, paper, crayons or markers

Preparation: familiarize yourself with basic building concepts and have a creative mindset

Activities

1. Start by drawing a blueprint of your brickyard on paper.

2. Use building blocks to construct the different sections of your brickyard, such as houses, roads, and gardens.

3. Label each section with words in English and a foreign language of your choice.

4. Calculate the total number of blocks used in your construction and practice addition and subtraction with them.

5. Create a musical performance with your brickyard as the stage and tell a story through music.

6. Design a physical education obstacle course around your brickyard and navigate through it.

7. Explore the science behind building materials and experiment with different structures.

8. Research historical brickyard buildings and incorporate their designs into your creation.

9. Use critical thinking to solve challenges that arise during the construction process.
