By the end of this lesson, you will be able to make a delicious and fun snack all by yourself!

Materials and Prep

Materials needed:
- 1 banana
- Peanut butter
- Small knife
- Plate
- Optional toppings like raisins, chocolate chips, or honey

Make sure to wash your hands before starting the lesson!

Activities

1. Banana Boats: Cut the banana in half lengthwise. Spread peanut butter on each half. Add your favorite toppings like raisins or chocolate chips to make them look like boats!

2. Banana Faces: Cut the banana into slices. Use peanut butter to stick on toppings like raisins for eyes, a strawberry slice for a mouth, and shredded coconut for hair!

3. Taste Test: Try your creations and share with your family. Have fun describing the flavors and textures!

Talking Points

  • Let's start by washing our hands. Remember, clean hands make yummy food!
  • What shape is a banana? Can you guess how many pieces we will get after cutting it in half?
  • Why do we use peanut butter as glue for our toppings? It helps them stick to the banana!
  • What do you think the raisins taste like with the banana? Sweet or chewy?
  • How does your Banana Boat look? Is it ready to sail into your tummy?
  • Remember, cooking is like an adventure! You get to create something new and exciting every time!
