Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will learn about Chinese New Year and its traditions.

Materials and Prep

  • Red paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers or crayons
  • Plain white paper
  • Knowledge of basic Chinese New Year traditions

Activities

  • Make a Chinese New Year Lantern: Cut the red paper into strips and glue them together to form a lantern. Decorate it with markers or crayons.
  • Create a Chinese Dragon: Draw and color a dragon on the white paper. You can make it as long and colorful as you want!
  • Learn Chinese New Year Greetings: Practice saying "Xin Nian Kuai Le" which means Happy New Year in Chinese.
