Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to recognize different types of cars, understand basic car-related vocabulary, and have fun while learning about cars.

Materials and Prep

Materials:

  • Toy cars
  • Paper
  • Crayons
  • Music player for car-themed songs
  • Open space for physical activities

Prep: None

Activities

1. Car Drawing: Provide paper and crayons for the student to draw different types of cars.

2. Car Race: Line up toy cars and have a fun race to learn about speed and distance.

3. Car Sounds: Play car-themed songs and encourage the student to make car sounds along with the music.

4. Car Shape Matching: Show the student different car shapes and ask them to match them with corresponding shapes.

Talking Points

  • Art: "Let's draw a red car with big wheels and a shiny body. What color will you use for the car?"
  • English: "Can you say 'car' and 'drive' while playing with your toy cars?"
  • Math: "Let's count the number of wheels on each car. How many wheels does a car have?"
  • Music: "Listen to the car song. What sounds do you hear? Vroom vroom!"
  • Physical Education: "Let's move like cars! Can you crawl like a car on the floor?"
  • Science: "Cars need fuel to move. What do cars use as fuel?"
  • Social Studies: "Cars help us travel to different places. Where would you like to go in a car?"
