Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will learn about muscles and how they help you move and play!

Materials and Prep

  • Clear space for movement
  • Your body! (arms, legs, etc.)

No special preparation needed, just your enthusiasm to learn!

Activities

  • Muscle Dance: Put on your favorite song and dance around, feeling your muscles moving!
  • Simon Says: Play a game of Simon Says where you have to flex different muscles when Simon says to.
  • Obstacle Course: Set up a mini obstacle course and see how your muscles help you navigate through it.

  • What are muscles?
    "Muscles are like rubber bands in our body that help us move."
  • Why do we need muscles?
    "We need muscles to run, jump, and play like superheroes!"
  • How can we make our muscles stronger?
    "Eating healthy food and playing outside helps make our muscles strong!"
  • Which muscles do we use for jumping?
    "We use our leg muscles to jump high like a kangaroo!"
  • Can you show me your muscles?
    "Flex your arm muscles like a superhero to show how strong you are!"
