Objective

Materials and Prep

  • Board games (any favorite board games of the student)
  • English dictionary or translation app
  • List of board game vocabulary in English
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn!

Activities

  • Board Game Vocabulary Match: Create flashcards with board game terms in English on one side and the student's native language on the other. Have the student match the terms correctly.
  • Role Play: Pretend to play a board game in English. Use phrases like "It's your turn", "I rolled a six", "You win!" to practice speaking in context.
  • Describe and Guess: Describe a board game without mentioning its name, and have the student guess which game it is. Encourage the use of descriptive English words.
