Objective

Materials and Prep

  • Soft balls or bean bags
  • Music player for background music
  • Comfortable clothing for movement

Activities

1. **Ball Roll**: Have the student roll the soft balls or bean bags back and forth with you, encouraging them to use their arms and trunk muscles.

2. **Animal Walks**: Pretend to be different animals like a bear, frog, or crab, and have the student mimic the movements, engaging in heavy work.

3. **Obstacle Course**: Create a simple obstacle course using pillows or cushions for the student to crawl over, under, and around, providing heavy work activities.

  • **"Let's roll the ball back and forth. Can you push it to me?"**
  • **"Now, let's walk like a big bear. Can you stomp your feet like a bear?"**
  • **"Look at this obstacle course! Let's crawl under the pillow like a little crab."**
