Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to create a fun conversation with a friend!
Materials and Prep
Materials needed: paper, crayons/markers, and a willing friend or family member to have a conversation with.
Before the lesson, think about some interesting things you'd like to talk about with your friend.
Activities
1. Draw a picture of you and your friend having a conversation. What are you talking about?
2. Practice introducing yourself to your friend. Say your name and ask for their name.
3. Create a short story with your friend. Each of you can add one sentence at a time.
4. Use your imagination to come up with a pretend scenario to talk about with your friend, like going on a magical adventure or exploring a new planet.
Talking Points
- Ask your friend how they are doing today. You can say, "Hi! How are you feeling?"
- Share something interesting about your day. You can say, "Guess what happened to me today!"
- Ask your friend about their favorite hobby or activity. You can say, "What do you like to do for fun?"
- Imagine a fun adventure together. You can say, "Let's pretend we are pirates searching for hidden treasure!"
- Practice being a good listener. When your friend is talking, nod and smile to show you are listening.
