Activities
Introduction to Photography (10 minutes)
Begin by discussing the importance and impact of photography in our lives. Explain that photography is a way to capture moments and tell stories through images. Show examples of different types of photographs and discuss their purpose and composition.
Camera Basics (15 minutes)
Teach the student how to use the camera or smartphone camera. Explain the functions of the different buttons and settings, such as zoom, flash, and focus. Demonstrate how to hold the camera steady and how to frame a shot.
Composition Techniques (20 minutes)
Introduce the concept of composition in photography. Discuss the rule of thirds, leading lines, and framing. Show examples and encourage the student to practice these techniques by taking photos of various subjects.
Exploring Perspectives (15 minutes)
Encourage the student to experiment with different angles and perspectives. Discuss the impact of shooting from low or high angles, and how changing the perspective can alter the mood and message of a photograph. Have the student take photos from different perspectives.
Review and Critique (10 minutes)
Review the photos taken by the student. Discuss their strengths and areas for improvement. Encourage the student to reflect on their choices and think about how they can enhance their photography skills in the future.
