Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to demonstrate basic Jujitsu techniques and understand the importance of physical fitness in martial arts.

Materials and Prep

  • Comfortable workout clothes
  • Clear space for movement
  • Water bottle
  • Access to online Jujitsu tutorials or instructional videos

Activities

  1. Warm-up: Start with a dynamic warm-up routine to prepare the body for physical activity. Include exercises such as jumping jacks, high knees, arm circles, and lunges.

  2. Technique Practice: Choose a few basic Jujitsu techniques (e.g., wrist lock, hip throw, or armbar) and guide the student through step-by-step instructions. Encourage them to practice each technique with proper form and control.

  3. Partner Drills: If possible, involve a family member or friend as a training partner. Practice the techniques learned in the previous activity by taking turns as the attacker and defender. Emphasize the importance of communication, trust, and safety during partner drills.

  4. Cool-down and Stretching: Finish the lesson with a cool-down routine, including static stretches for major muscle groups. This will help prevent muscle soreness and promote flexibility.
