Talking Points
- Water cycle is the continuous movement of water on, above, and below the surface of the Earth.
- When water from oceans, lakes, and rivers is heated by the sun, it turns into water vapor in a process called evaporation. You can say, "Imagine the sun giving water a warm hug and turning it into a cloud!"
- Water vapor cools down in the atmosphere and changes back into liquid form, forming clouds in a process called condensation. You can say, "The water vapor is like a magical mist turning into fluffy clouds!"
- When the clouds get heavy with water droplets, they release the water back to the Earth as rain, snow, sleet, or hail in a process called precipitation. You can say, "The clouds are like big water balloons bursting with raindrops!"
- Understanding these water cycle terms helps us appreciate the beauty and importance of water in our world.
