Objective

Materials and Prep

  • Computer or tablet with Minecraft installed
  • Basic knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Activities

  1. Activity 1: Minecraft Math Word Problems

    Create your own Minecraft-themed word problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division. For example, "Steve found 5 diamonds and gave 2 to Alex. How many diamonds does Steve have now?" Solve the problems and write down the answers.

  2. Activity 2: Minecraft Math Challenge

    Enter Minecraft and find a structure or object that you like. Measure its length, width, and height using blocks. Calculate the volume and surface area of the structure or object using the formulas you have learned in class.

  3. Activity 3: Minecraft Math Puzzles

    Create a set of Minecraft-themed arithmetic puzzles. For example, "If it takes 3 blocks to craft a pickaxe, and you have 15 blocks, how many pickaxes can you craft?" Solve the puzzles and challenge yourself to solve them as quickly as possible.
