Materials and Prep
- Plastic containers for water play
- Toys that can get wet (such as rubber ducks or plastic boats)
- Umbrella for pretend play
- Large paper for drawing raindrops
- Music or sounds of rain
- Clear tape to stick paper raindrops on windows
- Prepare a safe space for water play
Activities
- Splash in Puddles: Fill the plastic containers with water and let your child splash around with the toys.
- Pretend Rain: Use the umbrella for pretend play, opening and closing it while making "pitter-patter" sounds.
- Draw Raindrops: Help your child draw raindrops on the large paper and then stick them on windows to create a rainy day scene.
Talking Points
- Rain makes everything fresh and clean. Say: "Look, the rain is washing everything clean!"
