Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand the basics of marsh ecology and its importance in the ecosystem.

Materials and Prep

  • Access to a computer or tablet with internet
  • Optional: Marsh-related books or videos

No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.

Activities

  1. Research: Use the computer or tablet to research about marshes and their ecology. Take notes on the different plants and animals that are commonly found in marshes.

  2. Draw and Label: Create a drawing of a marsh ecosystem on a piece of paper. Include the different plants and animals you learned about in your research. Label each component to show your understanding.

  3. Role Play: Pretend to be a marsh scientist and explain to a family member or friend what you have learned about marsh ecology. Use your drawing as a visual aid.
