Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to analyze and comprehend a Star Wars-themed reading passage, and demonstrate understanding by answering related questions.

Materials and Prep

  • Star Wars-themed reading passage (can be found online or created by the teacher)
  • Paper and pencil for note-taking and answering questions

Activities

  1. Introduce the Star Wars-themed reading passage to the student. Provide some background information about Star Wars and its popularity.
  2. Read the passage aloud to the student, or have the student read it independently.
  3. Encourage the student to take notes while reading, jotting down any important details or interesting information.
  4. Discuss the passage with the student, asking comprehension questions to check their understanding. Encourage the student to refer back to their notes if needed.
  5. Have the student answer a set of questions related to the passage. These questions can focus on character analysis, plot summary, or theme identification.
  6. Review the student's answers together, providing feedback and discussing any areas of confusion or misunderstanding.
