Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will have a basic understanding of the human body and its parts.

Materials and Prep

  • Printed images of the human body (skeleton, organs, muscles)
  • Coloring pencils or crayons
  • Clear plastic sheet
  • Scissors
  • Glue

No special knowledge is required for this lesson.

Activities

  • Color the Human Body: Provide the printed images of the human body and let the student color them.
  • Build a Human Body Puzzle: Cut out the different parts of the human body and paste them on the clear plastic sheet to create a puzzle.
  • Dance and Move: Teach the student about muscles by dancing and moving different body parts.

Talking Points

  • Skeleton: "Our skeleton is like the frame of a house. It helps us stand up straight and protects our body."
  • Organs: "Our organs are like the different rooms in our body. Each organ has a special job to keep us healthy."
  • Muscles: "Muscles are like rubber bands in our body. They help us move and play."
