Talking Points
- Plants have been grown by people for a very long time. In the past, people used different methods to grow plants like digging holes with sticks. Today, we have tools to help us like shovels and watering cans.
- "Did you know that some plants were first grown thousands of years ago by ancient civilizations like the Egyptians and Greeks?"
- When planting seeds, it's important to cover them with soil gently and water them regularly. Plants need sunlight, water, and nutrients from the soil to grow big and strong.
- "Plants are like our friends, they need care and attention to grow. Just like we need food and water, plants need sunlight and water to survive."
- Keeping a garden journal is a fun way to see how plants change over time. You can draw pictures of your plants, write about what you see, and learn more about how plants grow.
