Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to analyze a movie by identifying the main characters, setting, and plot.

Materials and Prep

  • A movie of your choice
  • Pen or pencil
  • Blank paper or a notebook

Activities

  1. Watch the movie together with a parent or guardian.

    Pay close attention to the characters, setting, and plot.

  2. After watching the movie, take a few minutes to think about what you saw.

    Write down the names of the main characters and describe what they looked like and what their personalities were like.

  3. Next, write down where the story took place. Was it in a city, a forest, or somewhere else?

  4. Finally, write a short summary of the plot. What happened in the beginning, middle, and end of the movie?

  • "In movies, there are characters who play different roles. They can be the main characters or side characters. Can you think of some characters from the movie we watched?"
  • "The setting of a movie is where the story takes place. It can be a real place or a made-up place. What was the setting of the movie we watched?"
