Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to create beautiful water spray art using only water and their creativity.

Materials and Prep

  • Water spray bottles
  • Watercolor paper
  • Water
  • Outdoor space or protected area for spraying

No prior knowledge or preparation needed, just a willingness to have fun and get a little messy!

Activities

  • Experiment with different spray patterns by adjusting the nozzle of the spray bottle.
  • Encourage the student to create different effects by trying out different spraying techniques.

  • Create a watercolor masterpiece by spraying water onto the paper and then adding drops of watercolor paint.
  • Watch as the colors blend and mix in interesting ways to create unique artwork.

  • Practice control by spraying water to create a resist effect with crayons or oil pastels.
  • Explore how the water interacts with the waxy surface of the crayons to create a cool resist effect.
